You read that correct! You do not need, nor do you want, a day of coordinator for your wedding. There is a lot of explaining on both ends even though it’s my profession and many venues require one. I receive many emails asking if I would just show up to the wedding to make sure things run smoothly. Unfortunately, this title of a wedding coordinator has given an incorrect impression of what a bride needs for her day.
I attended a wedding as a guest in the past, and the day of coordinator did just that. She showed up, and it unfortunately turned out to be a chaotic wedding for many reasons. The wedding started 45 minutes late, groomsmen were confused, the wedding party didn’t know where to stand, and there were many awkward minutes of silence. The overall flow of the evening certainly wasn’t how the bride and groom would have wanted.
In order to make your wedding run smoothly, we need to be part of planning before the day of. We need to make sure that you have reputable vendors, build a timeline that includes flow and fun, and catch any hiccups that happen. Along with that, we make the layout for your ceremony site, cocktail hour, and reception area. On top of that, there are little and big details that brides just don’t think about, and they shouldn’t. Brides should be enjoying their day and the fun stuff that goes along with the wedding.
Wedding coordinators and planners are wired to think on their feet, but we also need information before the wedding. We need to know YOU, your likes, dislikes, and personality. This is what helps us make sure you have the wedding of your dreams and bring reality to the picture as well. So before you hire a “Day of Coordinator,” make sure they are actually participate well before the day of so that your wedding can truly be the best day ever!
We’d love to support you on your big day with beautiful florals and perfect planning.
